Lydia Johnson

VP, Product Development, Low Carbon Solutions, ExxonMobil


Lydia Johnson is the Vice President of Product Development for ExxonMobil’s Low Carbon Solutions business.  Johnson and her team are focused on integrating technology, policy, markets and commercial expertise to develop the products that will enable the energy transition.

Johnson joined ExxonMobil in 1994 after graduating from Texas Tech University with a dual degree in Civil Engineering and Architecture.  She began work at ExxonMobil as a construction engineer, providing a technical foundation to what has become a mostly commercial career. Johnson has held roles across ExxonMobil and worked all over the world on business and joint venture development, complex negotiations, supply chain and midstream logistics, Acquisitions & Divestments, and mega project execution.  Throughout her career, Johnson has had the opportunity to leverage her global experience, vast networks, and commercial expertise to develop creative commercial structures and negotiations strategies for some of the industry and ExxonMobil’s most complex issues.  Having led many regional and global teams she has played an active role in developing the next generation of business leaders.

Johnson serves on several women’s leadership teams across ExxonMobil and industry and has a real passion for connecting people, experiences, and perspectives to progress her personal goals of innovation and inclusion.  Johnson is proud to be a member of the Dean’s Council at Texas Tech.
