James Steffes
EVP, Corporate Affairs, Direct Energy
James Steffes is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Direct Energy. Prior to Direct Energy, he served as CEO of Circular Energy, and NRG Energy as head of Green Mountain Energy. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the competitive energy industry, serving in various roles including business, operation, regulatory and public affairs functions at several retail energy and wholesale commodity firms. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member on the Advanced Energy Economy (AEE). He is also a member of the Houston USO Advisory Council. Steffes holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
